Any new wips you would recommend/are planning to check out? I trust your judgement, dear author!

Hello! So I’ve shared my COG and HG recommendations here. And here I’ve added some of my favorite WIPs to an already amazing list.

But as for recent WIPs… Hmm. I’ll admit I haven’t been as active on the forum or as involved in the community as I once was, so there is a lot of WIPs I still haven’t checked. However, since making that list I do have a few new ones that I recommend.

Just West of Autumn Boulevard by @westofautumnboulevard - Very strong start to a genre that I personally think is lacking in choice games: horror. I’m a massive fan of horror literature, and was so happy when I first came across this demo. It’s not very long yet, but there’s already a chilling part that left me wanting for more.

Other than that? The building feels alive. I have nothing else to say.

The Porthecrawl Witness by @porthecrawl-witness - Another one that comes to fill a certain lapse in IF fiction. While it’s listed as fantasy, I felt it leans more on the darker side of it. The atmosphere is incredibly well-crafted, heavy and present through the entire narrative. I could truly imagine Porthecrawl in my head, the gloomy town as alive as the MC.

The plot is very unique and creative, and it has one of my favorite things in choice games: We have a lot of freedom where it comes to shaping our MC. Overall a great demo, lengthy too.

The Rosy Ones by @rosykingdom - I haven’t read the newest update (literally read the demo the day before the author updated 😄) but I liked it quite a lot. There is a character there that you meet immediately, and the way they are written is absolutely engaging. Creepy and eery, just on the safe side of insane. Another game I hope keeps up the darker flavor, and while the demo was quite short, I definitely bookmarked it. I can’t wait to read the update when I have more time!

The Passenger by @the-passenger-if - Okay, this one is obviously not a new one. I’m also pretty sure everyone already knows it, but I had to include it on this list. I finally read the entire public demo recently, and welcome to my new obsession.

Per the theme of this post: Horror. But this one is cosmic horror. And my god, it delivers. The action scenes are incredibly well written, the MC is one of my favorites MCs of all time, and the supporting characters are so good, I would buy a DLC with just us hanging around that old basement, watching bad horror movies with Roach and Jonny.

As for demos I want to read and still haven’t gone around to it, here:

The Edge of Dawn by @elysianfiction - It’s fantasy. It has a cool aesthetic. Apparently, I can date a pirate. What more needs to be said?

Smoke And Velvet - I read the words cosmic horror, I bookmarked it.

Demon Bound by @demonboundif - There are witches, dark rituals and you can walk in the land of dreams. More than interesting enough for me.
